The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) will bring together leaders from manufacturing, retail and the supply chain on 5 July 2016 at its first industry convention.
FDF has secured a panel of senior business leaders from Tesco, Spar UK and HSBC, alongside major food and drink brands Agrico, Coca-Cola Great Britain, Mars Chocolate UK and Global Retail, McCain, Mondelēz International, Seabrook Crisps and Weetabix. The speakers will advise delegates on how to navigate the changing trading landscape and optimise supplier and retailer relationships, while also exploring the changing political landscape and how innovation is driving the sustainability agenda.
Ian Wright CBE, director general of the FDF, says, “The UK’s dynamic food and drink sector is a huge success. Its current and future leaders are amongst the most impressive entrepreneurs, strategists and creatives operating in business today. The FDF convention brings them together for the first time.
“Food and drink manufacturing is growing – with value added exports, productivity and business investment all up at the end of 2015. We face major shared challenges – from our looming skills gap to the threat of increased regulatory burden through initiatives like the Apprenticeship Levy and National Living Wage.
“FDF’s industry convention is the forum for different ideas and approaches to be shared. It’s a chance to agree how we should seize the opportunities the industry offers and tackle together the challenges we face.
“Over recent months we’ve heard various opinions on how others think the industry should be operating. This event is a platform for businesses to answer back. The expertise in the room will make for an unmissable event.”
The FDF Convention will take place at Willis Towers Watson in High Holborn, London. Full information on the speaker line up and agenda can be found here.
